A Christmas carol is a song or hymn about the theme of Christmas that is usually sung during the Christmas holiday season. There are so many beloved Christmas carols; I have my favorites, and I’m sure you do, too! Join me in today’s episode to take a closer look at 3 of them: “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, “Go Tell it on the Mountain” and “Joy to the World”.
You’ll learn…
- How many different collaboraters through the decades contributed to the versions of the carols we now sing
- Which of these carols became a show-stopper for the concerts of the Fisk Jubilee Singers
- Which Christmas carol wasn’t even written to be sung at Christmas in the first place
