Perhaps around Halloween time, you’ll start to hear a familiar tune. It starts out softly, with the bassoon playing low, short notes. Gradually it gets louder and faster and louder and faster until there is a big CRASH of instruments at the end!
This popular tune is “In the Hall of the Mountain King”, the most famous piece written by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.
In today’s episode, we’ll learn more about this composer and also listen to some of his well-known compositions — including “In the Hall of the Mountain King”, of course!
