If I asked you to tell me what rhythm is, would you be able to define it?
Sometimes there are words that we hear a lot, but we aren’t exactly sure what they mean.
In this episode, I’ll teach you what, exactly, rhythm is. We’ll practice clapping a rhythm, and listen to lots of examples of rhythms from famous works of music.
Musical Samples You’ll Hear In this Episode:
- Gershwin – I’ve Got Rhythm
- Debussy – La Cathedrale Engloutie (The Sunken Cathedral)
- Beethoven – 5th Symphony, 1st Movement
- Bach – Invention No. 1 in C Major
- Debussy – The Girl with the Flaxen Hair
